Thayer Hirsh

Born and raised in Needham, Massachusetts, Thayer Hirsh moved to Boulder in 2005 after graduating from Lehigh University with majors in International Relations and Spanish. Before pursuing his MBA at the Leeds School of Business, Thayer worked in the travel, finance and renewable energy industries. Most recently he was the Director of Training at a national solar electric integration firm implementing their new franchise network. Thayer is passionate about finding efficiency improvements from an operational, logistical and environmental standpoint. Having lived in Mexico, Spain and Argentina, Thayer prides himself on being able to empathize with different people, cultures and perspectives. When not working or studying, Thayer can be found road biking, skiing or playing with his mutt, Maeby.

Glenna Lovan

Glenna Lovan is a marketing professional originally from O’ahu, Hawai’i. Working within the marketing and advertising industry for three years now, she has created strategic marketing plans, conducted and analyzed market research (through focus groups, surveys and interviews), and successfully created new proposals and business plans. She has experience with a variety of industries and has worked with companies such as Taco Bell and Pizza Hut Hawaii, Ala Moana Shopping Center (the nation’s largest open-air shopping mall), Bank of Hawaii, and Merrill Lynch. Her education includes a BBA in Marketing and Management from the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii. She is currently pursuing an MBA with a dual focus in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.

Sarah Boulden

Sarah Boulden is pursuing her JD and MBA degrees at the University of Colorado and holds a BS in Corporate Communications and a BA in English from the University of Texas at Austin. Before moving to Boulder, Sarah worked in Austin, Texas as the Director of Publishing Services for an independent book publishing company, where she managed editorial and publishing staff; negotiated partnerships with distributors and designers; represented clients at domestic and international trade shows; and brought book projects from initial edits through marketing and distribution. Sarah co-founded the Austin Chapter of the international non-profit Room to Read and currently is a member of the Boulder/Denver chapter of Room to Read. She also serves as a Board Fellow at Voices for Children CASA in Boulder. After graduation, she plans to work in entrepreneurial law.

Carrie Gleeksman

Carrie Gleeksman was born and raised in New Jersey. After earning a BA in History from Emory University, she moved to New York to work for a large advertising agency. In 2002 Carrie became interested in nutrition and healthcare and enrolled in a graduate nutrition program at New York University. She graduated with a MS in Nutrition and became a Registered Dietitian in 2005, and moved to Boulder the following year. Carrie worked at National Jewish Health in Denver for three years and then realized her real interests lie in the business world. Carrie is currently pursuing her MBA at the Leeds School of Business with a concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurship. When not busy with school work, Carrie can generally be found riding her road bike, skiing, or hiking.

Sean Calhoun

Growing up in Boulder, Sean learned from and grew to appreciate the start-up business community. Sean attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he studied International Affairs, Environmental Science, and Economics. Following graduation, Sean conducted green building research at ICF International in Washington DC, developed university campus master plan projects at Shepley Bulfinch in Boston, provided strategic and financial analysis for GoodBelly in Boulder, and nurtured a microfinance partnership for Kiva.org in rural Nicaragua. Sean is currently pursuing his MBA at the Leeds School of Business, with a combined focus in marketing and entrepreneurship (with an eye towards sustainability), and is passionate about developing human capital and technological solutions for start-up companies in the social enterprise, renewable energy, and education spaces.

Charul Mehtalia

Charul is currently pursuing her MBA, at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado at Boulder and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication engineering from the Mumbai University. Immediately after graduating in 2004, Charul took over her family business and stepped in as the Managing Director of Sujay Computers Pvt.Ltd, Mumbai. Over period of five years, she successfully transformed Sujay’s business from trading to a complete end-to-end IT solution provider and grew the company three-fold. Charul managed a team of 25 across 4 office locations of Sujay in Mumbai. As the MD, she headed the finance, business development, client relationship management and marketing divisions at Sujay. After moving to Boulder, CO in late 2009, Charul got certified to become an ‘Accredited Counselor’, at Denver chapter of SCORE. At Leeds, she intends to style her academic experience to further enhance her understanding of finance and entrepreneurship. Outside work Charul loves to spend her time in glass painting, Iyengar yoga and travelling.
